Abram Games

As seen within the documented BBCtv ident below, this 'Bat Wings' symbol for the British Broadcasting Corporation was designed by Abram Games and used as the companies first onscreen logo.

Most importantly however, Abram Games was at the time best known for designing numerous war time posters that show direct contextual reference to propaganda posters that I have looked at previously within this module.

Of particular interest to me, the following design elements appear crucial to reference in terms of making informed design decisions within my own progression:

- Flat, blocked shapes
- Use of simplistic sans serif typefaces; often in upper case
- Muted colours that connote an aged atmosphere and remain subtle
- Imagery relevant to the theme; iconic objects such as soldiers, boats, bullets and uniform.
